Cvrcek wins in Rechberg
1st May 2019, Rechberg / AUT
Professional car L Racing Team began a season of Slovak Hill Climb Championship (MSR PAV) last weekend. Veroslav Cvrcek Jr., the defending champion, started the season in high style – with an absolute win.
Veroslav Cvrcek Jr.: „Rechberg was a great race with high competition and in a beautiful environment. Even the weather was much better than predicted. We started with a championship car from last year. Additionally, we made some changes and improvements, everyone could see a new rear wing. But the most significant changes were made in kinematics and settings of a chassis, then in brakes, electronics and also a couple of other details. It is not possible to evaluate the times of that race objectively in comparison to last year because we drove and won it in a quite a test mode. The results were just perfect – so far without tough struggle with Igor Drotar, we rather tried to compare us with Karl Schlager, a big icon of E1 category. It was nice to defeat all Czech and Slovak representatives who regularly take part in European Championship and have cars of higher categories. I am only sorry that Mr. Liptak was not able to be here with us and share a great atmosphere in the pits with us and finally celebrate the result. I thank him a lot for the team‘s support.“
Jan Liptak, L Racing Team manager: „The beginning of a new hill climb season could not be better. I give thanks to the whole team and especially to Veroslav who began his way to regain the title in high style. Also Denis gets faster every year and makes us happy with his results. But let us stay calm, the season is long and motorsport is unpredictable, only with humility and hard work we can reach a lot. I am sorry I could not take part in that race and enjoy the happiness with the team but I believe we will see each other on other hills.“
